Wonderland Clayworks

Wonderland Clayworks is a locally owned pottery studio & gallery space steps away from the heart of downtown Gunnison, CO. Learn to throw on the wheel, trim, and glaze, or explore hand building techniques to create your own whimsically one of a kind piece. Private lessons are available for students of all levels looking to grow in their ceramic practice. This family-friendly creative space offers lessons for kids and adults, monthly projects, and demonstrations during the First Friday ArtWalk. This vibrant studio offers private party rentals, birthday party packages, memberships, weekend workshops, and clay classes for all ages. 

Studio owner and instructor Kristin Gruenberger’s whimsical ceramic work ignites the imagination and draws you into a storybook and down the rabbit hole. Known for her whimsically one of a kind teapots, mugs, sculptures, and dishware, this clay studio & gallery is filled to the brim with unique ceramic gifts and incredible local art.

Artist Bio

Kristin graduated with a BFA in ceramics from Metropolitan State University of Denver in 2011. Since graduating, she has further enhanced her knowledge of ceramics through assistantships, lectures, and workshops. As her work develops, she has been exhibiting in art festivals, galleries, and local stores in Colorado and the Southwest region. Native to Colorado, she has been active in the local art scene, working with outreach programs and offering workshops to promote artistic growth within the community. She has taught at various art centers in the metro area and continues to teach private lessons. She is currently working as a full-time ceramic artist in Gunnison, CO, and teaching classes on form and surface at the Gunnison Arts Center, the Crested Butte Clay Studio, and Wonderland Clayworks.


The studio is equipped with 2 pottery wheels, a slab roller, wedging table, hand building tables, clay tools, cone 6 underglazes and glazes, texture tools, molds and more…
